Alumni and Friends Event
We are delighted to invite you to a special UCT Alumni Netwalking event—an opportunity to connect with fellow members of the University of Cape Town community while enjoying the restorative benefits of nature.
Netwalking combines networking and walking, creating a relaxed and engaging environment to build new relationships, reconnect with old friends, and share experiences with fellow alumni and friends of UCT.
We are especially fortunate to have this walk led by Rauri and Verna Bowie, proud alumni of the University of Cape Town. Verna is a Program Director at University of California, Berkeley, and Rauri an esteemed ornithologist and UC Berkeley professor. Together, they bring a distinguished combination of natural history expertise that offers participants a meaningful opportunity to engage thoughtfully with both the natural world and one another, making this walk a uniquely enriching and rewarding experience.

Tilden Regional Park in the East Bay. Meet at the Lone Oak Trailhead and Picnic Site at 9am.
